So I'm recording from my amp directly into my aardvark pro q10.
while I'm recording i listen through the monitors and the distortion is ideal.
Then, when i go to play back the recording through any other speakers, its all.. bass. It cuts my high end off.
Here i was going mad when my acoustic came out too bassy and now i realize its not the recording its the playback.
Which is of course, the most important thing..
so.
How can i kill this? Is it the software? Im using cool edit pro 2 (yeah.. i know) and i have been planning on getting sonar 3 pro for quite some time but im a student and money is tight.
Is it the software thats doing this? Any suggestions?
also, if anyone can tell me why my monitors dont work for play back, only for the live sound and recording, that would rock because... i need it.
Thanks and i hope you can make sense of it cause i sure as heck cant.

Aug 11, 2004 12:50 am Well if im not a big moron..
It seems i forgot that i turn up the bass on all my stereo's and computer speakers so.. of course everything sounds bassy..
So the pendulum swings..
anyone know how to add some bass to a track?
Im really new at this and dont know as much as i should.
Still need to know how to playback through my monitors thought.. I should trust the monitors, right?
Help!

Aug 11, 2004 02:46 am i don't understand...how do you have this all hooked up, and what kind of "monitors" are you using?
think about it this way. if you saw a signal with a totally flat frequency spectrum being played on your computer, it should be coming out flat from your monitors. otherwise, they fool you into believing that your mix has more bass than it does or however the monitors are messing with your sound.
Aug 11, 2004 05:31 am It's not really trusting your monitors as much as knowing your monitors...if you know they are a little weak in the bass, mix the songs so they are a little weak in the bass...
Aug 11, 2004 01:12 pm I have just the basics because im just getting started, but I have an aardvark pro q10 im running through my pc. I have 2-KRK 5 inch monitors. the way I've been recording is running a line out of my amp and into the q10 because i only have one microphone for now (oktava mk-319).
I dont know much about all this, but i figured the line out of the amp would be ok because the aardvark has preamps built in.. I dont know if im just a moron or if that makes no sense..
