As some of you may know, im a drummer... and i like new equipment. I have been getting pretty good acoustic sounds for a while now, so i figured i take it a step further and step into the electronic world for a bit. I just ordered the roland TD-8 drum module. i cant wait til this thing comes. itll be intense. all the drum modeling and variability. itll be great. so im just spreading the joy of new equipment. lol any input on these roland modules is welcome!

Sep 13, 2004 07:13 am sweet man!!!!!!! the td8 is one of the most "real" sounding drum modules iv heard. i dont have one but i set in my friends store one day playing with his for like an hour lol. good choice.
Sep 13, 2004 10:21 pm WEll I own a TD-6V and love it. Although I wouldnt sell my DM5 or anything as it is a pretty healthy set of drum sounds in its own right. The TD is very impressive indeed. I dont like the fact it is only equiped with a stereo out only as compared to the multi channel outs on the DM5. But hey once you set a kit up decent in the TD it is pretty dang good as is. It is pretty tweakable so in my case that is a plus. And editing right from the face is fairly simple and that is another plus.
Over all, Roland makes some pretty great gear and their TD stuff is right on.
Sep 14, 2004 12:57 am The TD-8 is a killer drum module. I have a TD-6V as well and I'll second what Noize has said. :) I'm not a drummer yet, but I'm working on it! :)

Sep 15, 2004 09:44 pm haha its been quite a while and the person i bought the td-8 off of screwed me out of my 467 dollars. she took the money, and didnt send the product so i got dicked pretty bad. although i did buy a dm5 and its doing fine i only trigger kick and snare so it gets the job done.
