Aug 01, 2004 12:41 am An SCSI is a faster and quicker harddrive but to costly in my opinon. I would just go with a 7200RPM IDE harddrive and spend the money you saved by going IDE on a big harddrive because we all know audio takes up space. Or if you are meaning an external harddrive, which work fine but internal is faster, I would go with USB 2.0 since it's standard. But then again, you probably won't tell the difference as far as speed in firewire compared to USB 2.0.
Aug 06, 2004 01:22 am if you're looking for internal, I'd say the new 10,000 RPM Western Digital Raptor drives are the best. They use a SATA interface, so you might need a controller card depending on your system, but same deal with SCSI. The raptors come in 36 GB and 74 GB flavors!
