Home on the range????

Hey whats up dudes...yeah i said dudes...what does that range indicator on the faders mean...you know the DB NUMBERS when you right click to set properties for your faders and it has the range like 24-48-60-72-96-120...what range should I be in or does it matter....

Basically as long as you have it set below what your card is capable of your fine. ie: if the noise floor of your card was -90dB you'd want to set to at least the 96dB range. It doesn't affect what you hear only what resolution of what you see on the meters.

and please explain resolution of the meters...you mean how it responds to the audio???

Well in the case of faders the resolution would be how small an increment you could change the gain. ie: if you set it at 24 you'd have 24 possible values shown, though the fader itself would probably still change the gain in .1 increments (or whatever your app uses).

In the case of the level meters in the app it would be the dynamic range shown, -96dB to 0dB in the example I gave.
