Hey everyone,

Just got wind that I will be re-locating sooner than I thought to the Orlando, FL/surrounding area. I was wondering if anyone down there has any idea's of where I could look for work down there by chance?

I have a heavy background in engineering, computers, hardware, networking, music and am looking for a job in one of these fields or something closely related. If anyone has any idea's I would greatly appreciate it. Of course I am already on all the job boards searching away. Don't care to end up flipping burgers down there. ;) lol Thanks in advance for any help.

btw... if anyone has any leads and would like to contact me outside of the boards, just drop me a line at [email protected] Just be sure to write Jobs in the subject line or HRC or something like that so I don't think your e-mail is spam. lol Thanks

hey man. i do live here but i'm the worst person to ask about jobs. all i can say is, its a great job market here. from what i hear. so you should find something. just remember, if you're going to go to full sail, you will need something flexible.

Hmm.. thats cool. The thing is that I keep getting mixed opinions about the area. I don't want to end up at a fast food type position caus I do have to worry about some bills yet and what not, but I can't have something that is full out with school and all too ya know. lol I was thinking I would go to school part time and over time I can finish at my leisure if I could find a decent job. I am working computer internet tech support stuff during the day and studio stuff during the night at the moment where I'm currently at.

Know of any customer service/call center type places in Orlando? Maybe if I get down that way, eventually we'll have to work on a project or something with the engineering stuff man. Well, its back to searching. peace

you better check into this with full sail. it's designed to be an immersion program, from what i understand. i dont know if you CAN go through it slowly. i think they want you in and out. everyone i've ever known who has attended that school (about 3 people that i've known closely, and i *think* every student that i've met in passing) had to put thier regular life on hold to go to full sail. the program takes one year. it's one of the selling points.

as for working on stuff, it'd be cool to meet you, mang, but i'm on the fast track to the west coast! in a few more weeks....

are you serious forty. You've been talking about moving for a while it seems (not that I'm pushing you). Just asking. And where exactly you headed. Seattle? LA? Frisco?

i've been talking about it for longer than you know. about 2 years now. but yes, i'm serious. LA.

in LA i plan to be a walking cliche, and i anticipate spiraling down until i'm left with nothing but the bottle.

yeah, Full Sail is supposedly getting a package in the mail with all the details for me. (hopefully soon) it said on their site though that some people go at their leisure, but they reccomend going all at once so that you can do everything like you'd be working at it. I'd like to do everything at once, but don't know if thats going to financially happen just at the moment so I was figuring on getting started atleast. :)

As for LA, wow, thats cool man. I have some friends out there too that live in the Thousand Oaks area just slightly south west I believe from LA if I remember correctly. Goodluck on the move if you make it out there man. :)

hey thats interesting, that you can go part-time.

yet another example of the weakness of inductive reasoning! three individual circumstances does not a rule make!

good luck. if you have any other non-job related questions about orlando you can ask 'em through my email if ya want
