Hey guys
I have question for ya
WHen I'm recording a basspart on my synth
it all goes well but I would like some slides down the neck with it it this possible with midi
cuz right now I just hear all the notes played one by one but I want to hear it slide which I don't
like when I'm going to a refrain and it starts in C and want to make it slide from the Quint (g) to the C
Is this even possible
I have a Bend wheel on my synth but that only goes for 1 note...
Hmmm Hope someone knows

Jun 28, 2004 05:22 pm check the tune here www.flamemusic.com/index.php?ax=view&id=11 , is that the kinda thing you want? with this, i just painted a load ofnotes in a real steep slope, and VOILA! a squelchy bassly slide thing
other than that, dunno...
Jun 28, 2004 05:25 pm hmmm No that ain't it
It's the same for guitar when U start at like the 24th fret and just slide down you don't hear the actual notes on by one but just some sound going down till it reaches the right note

the trilogy bass module can probably do this, but is very expensive. i think if you read about it, you will see that it has glissando effects. (is that the right word?) i've used this thing before, and i know it has built-in, customizable string noises (slaps, pops, squeaks, etc, all programmable) and--since it's made JUST for bass--i am thinking that i must have seen this slide capability in there too.
(edit) i do remember that it has several dedicated types of slides, actually. like what you said about sliding from the 24th fret down? this module has that. about 10 or 12 different styles on different instruments; slides of different lengths and which can be triggered from any pitch.
and for $349, maybe its not that expensive after all. it's won tons of awards.
other than that, i do not think there's a way to do it in midi, unless you buy a dedicated plugin that has the capability.
Jun 29, 2004 01:45 am damn..:S that's kinda expensive for me^o)
You'dd think having a $2000,- synth would do that
LOL
but yeah that's exactly what I meant the Glissando
Jun 29, 2004 01:55 am its probably the closest-to-real midi bass tool around right now. it's seriously packed with features. if i was more dedicated to bass id prolly have to get it, but as it stands i'm eyeing up that atmosphere there. 345 is steep but maybe if you save...
