Right im a newbie and a bit of a dummy with the technical stuff at the mo but heres my status

i play bass guitar and ive been recording directly into my computer for a few months now and im going to college next year to take music tech and hopefully carry it on at uni. I wanna buy a laptop for recording only and i wondered what i need. The problem is i have about £600 max to spend...but i want it to be fast and good. Just tell me what sort of things i will need

well a Fast Processor Pentium 4
Good soundcard (Probably via USB)
A lot of Ram since most "cheaper"laptops don't have alot of Ram you'll probably have to buy that urself
and enough Gig's on your harddrive

and of course the recording app...


so
Fast Processor
Lot of Ram
Enough Gig hardisc

yes but the ram is too low for recording

You'll need at least around the 500
