i have cakewalk pro audio version 9 on my computer. i am currently having a problem getting a previously recorded track to play while im recording another track. i have the settings set to sound on sound like the help topic says but for some reason it isnt working?

There is box in the options that says "Enable simultaneous playbaCk and record". that box gets unchecked at times, and with new installs on the versions of that era, the box is almost always unchecked, must have been a bug. I am sure you are running a full duplex card, so thats not it.
Ihave talked with several people as to why that option even exists.... Thats what solo and mute buttons are for.
Try that and see.
