Artwork???

Does anybody know of any websites or any place where people look for projects to "build their artistic portfolio"??

By this, I guess what I am asking is does anybody know someone who would do some artwork for my EP for free :-)!!!

Maybe someone who would like work for their portfolio or just someone who likes that kind of thing? I am looking for some neat original artwork (doesnt have to be Grade A Picasso) that I can use for my EP when its done...just to add to the presentation of the whole thing for when I pass out the CD to folks...

Maybe even someone here at HRC is a budding artist looking for a "development opportunity" and a plug on the CD inlay!!!! :-)

Gratious thanks to y'all.

Coco.

Maybe my girlfriend will do it if you tell me what you are thinking. She is very talented, but kind of tends to do cartoon type stuff. She's very into Japanese animated type stuff a bit Gorillaz style. What kind of style ar eyou looking for?

Hiya Mauz

Thanks a million for the offer...

I am after anything that will fit with the title if I am being honest. Title will be "Fill The Void". So..I had been thinking about a dreamy type landscape with a chasm of sorts i.e. void!

But, I am open to anything that is cool! So, that would be very good!

I always used to love this kinda thing myself when I was younger but alas my skills have deterioated and my art now is stuck with music ! Nae more paitings/drawings....

Many thanks Mauz...

Coco.

Also my pseudo "band" is named Dead Flowers after the song...

Newkie Broon...the REAL man's beer!

Alas, I miss the "bottles ay broon ale man"! hehe

Wise old chinese proverb say "Never throw broon ale bottles at people's heid - hard to drink beer from the floor!" :-)

Leinenkugal is now owned by Miller, so it's not as real of a beer as it once was...still better than Miller's main product line.

Miller GD is a fine lager I enjoy...but I am no longer buying any Miller products (UK based) as a stance against Scottish & Newcastle...

A firm who have just shut their plants in Scotland and Newcastle! Ironic or what..and put some of my mates and my father in law oot a job!

Corporate getts...bring on the real ale!

Miller, Bud and all those mass produced beers are all shag beer that is brewed in bulk, treated with presevatives, taste treatments and yellow dye to make sure they all taste and look the same batch after batch, year after year. It's garbage.

It's the small batch beers and home brews that are the real deal. I brewed my own for a few years, and I'll tell ya, as hard as I partied with it, I have yet to ever get a hang-over from a real, natural, pure beer such as home brew or good small batch beer.

Name some examples of a small batch beer? Are you saying Like a local beer company that doesn't mass produce?

yeah, small locals, there are even some decent bigger ones that are good. Fat Tire from Colorado is good, Summit from here in Minnesota, Sam Adams is pretty good...there are quite a few...the best aree in the brewpubs where they brew their own. :-)

PixelPixie - thanks for the kind offer of doing for "nowt" aka nixie, soddall, free, etc etc :-)!

I like your stuff...club stuff looks good and the sketches are quite cool.

All I am looking for is some original artwork for my CD. I aint selling it and I aint mass producing it - but I will be using to showcase my stuff. This means I'll be passing it oot to as many folk as possible to get some exposure/gigs/comments etc.

If you fancy the brief is simple: Design a cool bit of cd artwork for my very own "Fill The Void EP". Whatever you can think of for this title. I had a dreamy void in mind with a hand reaching out or something but alas, my artist days are long gone! Also my pseudo "band" is named Dead Flowers so a nice text logo or something would be F A N T A S T I C! No deadline - just when you have time my friend!!

I will of course give you full credit for Artwork and a web link on the enhanced CD when I get it done (when I figure oot how to do it!!) hehe.. and a complimentary copy of the disc of course! Can post to you as Im in Edinburgh. Forgive the long sentences - I tend to ramble at times :-)

Thanks...

OK Dokey..and thanks a million in advance for helping me out like this!

Music aint really dark - it's more straight ahead rock music ala Aerosmith/GNR/U2/The Beatles (I know thats pop but I like to aim for such a mix!!).

Dead Flowers is just a band name after The Rolling Stones song of the same name. If I am being honest, "Fill The Void" came about as I Was making some music to pass some time or "fill the void" hehehee..

Sounds good tho eh! hehe

No photos Im affraid...but im sure your creative wonders will be far better than a photo of my ugly mug! he

Thanks again.

1 is in Photoshop format, the other just a plain old Jpeg...

LEt me know if u want a peek or if your creative juices are kicking in (not great what I have anyway).

Cheers..
