May 24, 2004 12:34 pm I just read the description... that's a pretty useful little unit! You could do a lot with that. I bet you'll enjoy it. :)
May 24, 2004 12:42 pm They said nowhere if it has full size keys or not. I had to call them cuz I emailed three times and they all bounced as undeliverable...what a hassle...I hate talking to...people...
On the other hand, maybe I could get a job there as their web dude...cuz the current guy obviously sucks.

May 24, 2004 02:18 pm So how do you plan on using that? With external racks? Soundfonts/WAVs on the computer?
May 24, 2004 02:23 pm For starters I want to use it to run my softsynths to help me add a more human element to them and works with modulation and such in real time. I am leaning much more toward instrumentals and instrument-based music lately, more away from my "retro rock" type stuff, or more accurately, bringing that type of sound TO my "retro rock" style. Beyond that I am hoping that it will help me automate fadeins, fadeouts and other various tasks...
Also, it's time to call back a couple favors frok Noize2u, so he can come over and show me how to use all the MIDI-geek type crap...10 years ago I knew MIDI pretty darn well, but I have lkong since forgotten all the stuff I could do on my old MC-50 sequencer and JX1 synth...

May 24, 2004 02:29 pm Well, I hope it turns out to be everything you wish for. I've been thinking of selling my Triton for a Motif ES 6. But I've also been thinking of buying a midi controller and using various synthesizers and racks. Between the two options, which one do you think would be a better idea?
May 24, 2004 02:41 pm I really would feel wrong giving you an opinion, cuz I really don't know much about synths. All I want is a simple controller and nothing more, my only requirement was that I wanted knobs and faders assignable and I wanted full size keys.
I am sure Noize2u will be happy to give you his opinion on the situation tho...when I need MIDI info or advice, his phone number is on my speed dial :-)

May 24, 2004 06:46 pm I've adapted to the Triton which is great. But I'm looking for more sounds. That's why I was thinking of either getting the Motif, or external equipment. I've never really experimented with software synthesizers but if I could produce new sounds, that'd be great.
The edirol SD-90 looks pretty nice. www.edirol.com/products/info/sd90.html
Has external gear along with an audio interface for the PC. Has over 1000 midi instruments.
What is the difference between General Midi, and General Midi 2. My triton has general midi without the "2".

May 24, 2004 11:19 pm Hey, dB, the radium 49 is a nice little unit. I think the keys are regular size. I've been able to mess around with my friend's, and they're fun. I've got two things on my wish list, near field monitors and one of those things.
May 25, 2004 04:43 am Yup, I called M-Audio and they said that they are full sized keys, if they weren't I wouldn't have bought it. Plus, they price matched another dealer so I saved $20 :-)

May 25, 2004 01:08 pm wow, that's really bad business tactics by m-audio. Where's the respect for the channel? I guess it was good for you, but geez, if I was a dealer, I'd be annoyed to hear about that.
May 25, 2004 01:10 pm Oh, I misspoke, I meant Musician's Friend price matched another dealer, not M-Audio...wow, I didn't make that very clear did I?
