OK so this is the first of two rather unorthodox posts. Since I am just doing a predemo for a drummer to learn the songs I made a simple recording. Unfortunately, I am still waiitng for my new firewire hard drive that will significantly help me reduce my latency and burden on my computer. But that did not stop me and I went ahead and recorded.
I found some terrible latency with one track and I was sure that I had played dead on and didn't want to re-do the take. So I just moved the whole track a bit forward until it sounded on time. Ta-da! Zero latency (or at least unperceptible).
Since I noticed a bit of a delay on the voice too I tried moving it around as well. I managed to get the inverse of latency. The attack would come just a few milliseconds too early. On the song it really sounded cool.
Lets go low-tech solutions!
