What version of Cakewalk do you have? I don't think simple loop editing like dragging a loop longer or shorter came into play until Cakewalk released their Sonar package, but I ain't sure...Noize may chime in tonight, he is the resident Cakewalk guru...and will probably ask you that same question.

When you start CakeWalk up it should say on the splash screen what version it is. They all did that on start up. If it is not to old a version it should be called Pro Audio 9 or whatever. dB is right about the loop editing, such as stretching and so-on. That did not come into play untill the first version of Sonar came out. That was about a year and something ago. But you would know if it was Sonar, the Splash screen say's so. Although version 10.0.2 sound's kinda wierd. I think the updated version of Pro Audio 9 was given a version 10.

Anyway there are a couple of cheat's you can try to get it to fit. First off though, is the loop you have a full measure of beat's? By that I mean is it the full count of beat's? If so, what you will need to do is adjust your tempo setting up or down to make your loop fit the measure. this can be a little tricky, but after a few try's you should get it. Just count out the beat's per minute while timing them and set your tempo as close as you can get it. You may need to adjust teh tempo in small increment's like say 1.354 or something to get it really close. But I make do that way sometime's.

There is also a time and pitch stretch option if you have Pro Audio 9. Simply highlight your selction of audio, then right click on it. This will bring up a menu form which you can select cakewalk FX. From there you will see time /pitch stretch, and away you go.

If you have any other question's let me know.

You can always take the loop into something like Recycle and toy with it there
