first of all why did you like post 4 times

second of all Welcome to HRC

and as for you Question
euhmz... I would say the 2496 doesn't have a midi synth on board and the metronome is midi controlled so I think that's why you're not hearing it

Yes, if the metronome is MIDI controlled (which as I recall it is even in version 3 which I just reviewed a few weeks back. You best bet, if possible, is to run your metronome thru the SB and use the Audiophile for your audio. Or, you could make a simply side-stick beat with some audio sequencer like FruityLoops or something like that and make it into an Acid loop or groove clip (if Pro v2 supports either of those) and use that loop/clip as your metronome.

Welcome to HRC, please don't double post...or worse yet quadruple post.

It has MIDI ins and outs, but no onboard MIDI synthesizer. So it can pass MIDI data, but not reproduce sounds, as it has no sounds itself it can only pass on MIDI info to devices that do.

I posted 4x huh? ...I didn't recall receiving confirmation that my post stuck the first time i clicked submit. could you expect any more from the new guy?

thanks for the suggestion...i don't believe it's possible to run the metronome through the SB and audio through m-audio.

LAME..LAME I SAY!!! GTPro2 is great piece of software. I can import my own fruity acidized loops but they couldn't write a teeny, tiny code to make a click noise...LAME!

I am sure during my testing of GTPro 3 it could use multiple sound devices...maybe that was new with 3...well, anyway, if you use FL then it would work out well, make a simple 4 count click, make it an acid loop and import it into each project as track one using it as a click track. It does seem lame maybe, but it would work, and quite esasily too, as long as your song is 4/4 time one loop would work for them all the acid loops stretch with the BPM of your project...could be the perfect work around.

It will be worth it too, the audio quality difference betweent he SB and the Audiophile will indeed be noticable.

Again, four posts or not, welcome to HRC ;-)

There is no confirming message, it just pops back to the forum...I hate confirmation messages myself so I avoid any messages unless it's an error...but oh well, welcome to HRC :-)
