OK... im so confused! I want to get a new soundcard for my computer. Prefrebably one from Echo, with all the external inputs and outs and stuff. But i dont understand what it all is. The website shows these white boxes, which is what i want. but is there suppose to something inside my computer? if im not recording can it be used as just a simple soundcard like the soundblaster and stuff? Im so confused?? Please help..

I need to ask, if you don't know what all the stuff is, what makes you think that is the model you want? What are you basing that decision on?

You are talking about the Layla card right? There are two different kinds, one for desktop PC's and one for laptop PC's, yes, the desktop version has a card that fits inside your PC and yes it will work like a sound blaster and lay audio from your CD player, mp3 player, games and whatever. The only thing it does not do is play SB's sound fonts or MIDI cuz many pro cards, the Layla included, has no MIDI sounds built in.

Before you buy this card, there are many alternatives for less money that give you about the same features. What kind of PC do you have? How do you record? One instrument at a time or a whole band at once.

From what I understand from your post is that you should maybe ask for some advice or assistance in making this decision...
