Hey, dB, I noticed you use this combination. Do you go from the main outs of the 802 into the card? I guess you must use a 1/4"-to-RCA adapter, huh? Is there a significant loss of sound quality? I think this is the way I'm gonna go, cuz I can't afford a card with 1/4" ins.
Thanks,
Joe
P.S. Also, does anybody have a recommendation for a MIDI Controller? I'm interested in something like just a keyboard that doesn't make sounds itself, just sends MIDI controls. There's a cool MidiMan thing on Musician's Friend, with knobs and everything, but I don't think it has enough keys...

Sep 29, 2002 05:44 am Actually my cable is the adapter, I made some cables myself that have a 1/" on one end and an RCA on the other...I have noticed no loss...

Sep 30, 2002 10:40 am You can use the RCA tape outs on the MX802, to the RCA ins in the audiophile 24/96.
I'am having good results going that way.

Sep 30, 2002 09:46 pm I agree, with both idea's. The truth is, the fewer adapter's you use, the better the sound will be as there is less crap to corrod and mess with the signal.
Oct 01, 2002 07:11 am The fact the Audiophile had RCA jacks was the only thing that bothered me when I first bought it. But actually, it has performed very well, I am VERY happy with it, after making my 1/4" to RCA cables and getting it going, the sound has been great, no noticable loss for me.
I never thought of using the tape jacks, that is a good idea for many, personally, I always have a tape deck plugged into that because my business calls for it and I use it a lot. But if you don't that is a great solution.
