Sonar Upgrade Q

I recently got an email giving me a discount from Cakewalk for Sonar 3 Studio/Producer. I can either get Studio for $180 or Producer for $350. For me, this is huge savings over normal prices on online realtors. Getting this would delay me in getting a computer completely dedicated to audio. Would this be worth it? Right now I am using HS 2004. Also, I would get sonar producer anyway after I got a computer and some monitors but I do't want to pass up a good deal.

Also, how much better is Producer then Studio?

The only difference is that Producer is bundled with a bunch of third-party effects and softsynths that studio isn't. The Lexicon Reverb and the Sonitus bundle comes to mind, I don't recall the rest, but it's a lot of them. As far as the Sonar application itself, it's the exact same app.

Also, Producer has the integrated EQ on each channel strip. I think there was another difference but I can't remember it...

Anyway, If you're already happy with your plug-ins then no need to go for Producer, but I love my Sonitus effects-- they're great plug-ins in my opinion, much, much better than just what came with Sonar 1.

SONAR 3 Producer Editions provides all of the capabilities of Studio Edition plus the Lexicon Pantheon Reverb, Extended Mixing Console with Per channel multi-band Parametric EQ and assignable FX controls, Ultrafunk Sonitus:fx suite, VSampler 3.0 DXi and a professional sample library.

And few other bell and whistles as well.
