Mar 16, 2004 01:05 pm ha i never even seen that one but several companies like art and presonus make a smilar product. i too wonder how the behringer mic pres sound. i was looking into getting an ART mpa gold which is like 5 times more expensive than the ultra gain
Mar 16, 2004 01:08 pm I used one once.. for a few minutes. It sounded nice a clean-- But I didn't get a lot of time to test it out.

Mar 16, 2004 06:06 pm I've also been thinking of picking up some of those Flame... I haven't used one but Behringer makes good stuff, so I'm sure I'd be happy with it... Got a large music store around you, like a guitar center or something? I'm going to go play with one before I buy it

Mar 16, 2004 08:30 pm Yep, nice clean sound. But will get warm when you need it to. I only got to mess with one for about 20 minutes, but tried it clean at low output and with high gain, and was impressed. For the price it is a very good buy. And it is real straight forward to use, 20dB pad and soft limiting make it real nice and simple in a small package.

Mar 17, 2004 01:40 pm Flame, I don't have that particular pre but But I have Behringer pre and mixer. I get a great sound from them both. Real clean and quiet. I will always consider Behringer products.

Mar 21, 2004 11:05 pm That one is new to me. Looks real interesting. From the specs. it would make a great DI with a full meg input impediance on TRS and low impediance outs. Nothing wrong with the choice of a 12AX7 either. Only thing I couldn't find is any spec on noise although the hawlking is super low noise. The multi position "modeling" switch worries me a little. Have to wonder what that is all about. I like twist knobs, let me adjust. Don't limit me to a few choices. Almost looks like a feature...def: Oops! What do we do now? Call it a feature, charge more!

Mar 21, 2004 11:23 pm Just looked again at MF and it is definately going head to head with Art at twice the price. Looks like ART has an infinately adjustable "warmth" pot with presets listed. Can't really tell from the picture. Of course maybe so does the Berry, can't tell either. Come on somebody!....Try one!
