Using the Behringer Composer Pro

I recorded some stuff for my band and need to get the level of a vocal track to sit at the same level the whole way through. The way it is now it starts of loud and then gets quieter. Anyway I rented the composer pro from a local shop and the guy said it was reasonably straightforward to use but I'm having real trouble setting it up right. I'm not even sure if I have the aux ports on my yamaha md8 connected to the right place. The manual makes no sense to me.

Can anyone tell me what to do?

does the composer have compression as part of it? You need to re-record the vocal track and compress it to get an even signal.

The Composer Pro is what I use for outboard compression. It is a very good dynamic's processor, expander/gate, compressor /limiter. You need to make sure your aux out's go to the input channel's or one channel, and the output's from the composer go to the aux in's of the MD8. Then just play the vocal track out through the composer and record it bck in on another track at the same time. I do this frequantly when I can't get a decent sound with a DSP compressor.
