Mic impedance matching

Hello, sorry if this has been covered elsewhere, but does anyone know if the Roland VS880 has some sort of impedance-matching circuitry in there which will let me plug a mic straight into the jack socket with no probs? Cheers for any help, damned if I'm gonna read that SHOCKINGLY poor manual and hope to find the answer.

Alright, cheers guys, now my other question is this - I have a 1/4in jack plug, an xlr plug and a length of 3-core cable (that is, I'm trying to make a mic lead). I don't know which xlr pin connects to which tag on the jackplug, or how to earth the cable properly. I'd be grateful if somebody could run this by me - at the moment the cable just hums massively.
