Don't jump on it the day it is released. It is very advisable to just keep up on Critcal updates to Windows XP and let the SP2 run for a while...it is VERY likely that SP2a will be out shortly thereafter...

Just FYI.

I agree. Just like most of Windows Updates, they'll be a fix just for the latest update.

You are always so ahead of the game, its as if you have a connection with...

Anyway, your advice per windows is usually spot on, and timely as I was about to do the updates on the boyz box this weekend as it is over due.

Oh ya, and in the article I like the way Micro soft is putting blame on software developers if their update crashes other software makers stuff.

No forty, it's just saying to wait to see what sort of problems are reported, it may very well not be a problem for us at all...

Yes, it sounds like what they are saying is that other software makers may have issues that could be effected by the changes they make regarding mostly security issues. But they dont specify what kind of programs it might effect. If I was to guess it might effect other browsers or email clients. But I am certainly not an expert, I will take the article and dB's word for it to wait and see what kind of fix that might be needed as issues' pop up if they even do.

I always wait for SP4+ to be released before I install any OS, thus, I'm on 2K right now... Well, for this machine. Everything else is *nix.

Oh yeah, guess I got one 98 machine, 'cause one of my audio cards doesn't have drivers for anything else...
