Quick Mixer Question

So I've got my computer set-up with a Echo Layla card in it and I need a mixer now. I would like for it to have at least 8 outputs, but preferably 10 so I can record live bands through it into the computer. I was looking at Behringer's, which everyone here seems to like, on MF and I was having trouble finding a board that did that without being more than I need. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

You need a desk with direct outs - I would reccomend a soundcarft M series mixer.

Hi, so I can't seem to find any m Series ones, though I have found E series ones like the E12 which I think only has two outputs. Also when you're reading the product description it never (that I can figure out) really says how many outs there are. Am I supposed to assume 2 unless otherwise stated? Thanks.

Allow me to correct you jues, :) , whats needed is Either a mixer with direct outs or 8 to 10 sub outs, depending on what you need.

A mixer with 8-10 sub outs is gonna cost one big time - unless we're talking behrry?

I wasn't giving the cost effective option, just pointing out that there another way to go :)

So the Soundcraft M8 would be the most cost effective way to go? It definately has at least 8 outs right (can't find that in the product info)? Cause the place I'm going to buy it from has no product returns. Sorry to re-ask the question, I just want to make sure before I start spending $$$. Thanks.

Lost for words with all to say.

I have the M12 and love it to death. Yeah, the M8 has 8 in's and 8 direct outs for each, plus 4 stereo in's with the 4 stereo returns. What I did, was call local Soundcraft dealers (soundcraft.com has the listing for dealers in your area) to find the cheapest one. I paid $700 for my M12, I believe the M8 will cost $500 AT THE MOST. But you can't go wrong with this board. That's my 2 pennies worth.

Yeah I've found an M8 for $520 and an M12 for $640 so it sounds like there is no real reason to try to save $120 at that point. I'm glad you like your board though makes me a little less worried about it. Thanks for the suggestion.

Uh, well here's the thing. I got a Behringer ub 2222-fx pro from MF. But when I got the thing I thought it only had stereo outs and I was going to return it and get a new mixer. But if that one has at least 8 outs then I'm an f'n idiot. I would think it does if the 2442 does. ****, well I guess I need to drag it out of the box and take another look at it. Thanks.

It has stereo main out (there is two) stero sub outs (2 more) and 3 aux sends (thats three more) so right there you have 7 ways out of the board.

The 2222 is a decent board...much better than I thought, didn't realize it had the sub outs too, very cool!
