do you have the latest version of the Flash plugin? Have you ever been able to listen to songs here? What browser do you use? What OS? An ActiveX Control security in the browser prefs (which I believe only applies to IE, I forget)?

...and dang it...it doesn't. this is a problem with mozilla firefox. i can listen in IE, but something about the mozilla flash player install didn't work. some setting i'm unaware of.

nice, man. i love that song--good job. naked acoustic demos are real quick and fun to do, arent they? just grab a beer and hit record...it would almost be worth it to record a full-length live acoustic set of all your favorite covers, eh? i gotta get more into bowie. his new album had like 4 really good songs on it. whats the best bowie album, songwise?

weird, FireFox is crapping out, tomorrow at work I am going to try it in Mozilla, Netscape, IE, Opera and a couple other rouge browsers and see what works. I am guessing this is a Firefox issue, but who knows...

Good to hear a Bowie cover! FYI: I named my dog Ziggy Stardust :) You've struck a soft spot here Tony.

I used to cover this song in a band, and I just jammed on it with those guys this weekend!

I didn't realize that you had such a vocal range, Tony. I'd like to hear more like this from you! You do seem a little hesitant on a few parts...just belt it out and let it go man!

Forty: depending on what style you're into, there are several great Bowie albums. For a folk-type vibe, his best is Hunky Dory. The Rise And Fall Of Ziggy Stardust And The Spiders From Mars was the pinnacle of his songwriting and its a quintessential rock and roll album. Same goes for Aladdin Sane. Heroes, Low, and Scary Monsters and Super Creeps are all cool electronic-based albums of his from the late 70's/early 80's. Just stay away from Lets Dance, Tonight, and Never Let Me Down. Outside and Earthling are cool industrial-influenced albums. *pant, pant*...sorry, I'm a big Bowie fan...I'll shut up now :) I get to go see him in May too!

I really didnt know i had the "range" either. i did try several times to hit the "break up the band" high screaming D, but to no avail. man's got to know his limits.

Fourty- i think i am going to record everything i know just the same way. My songs, cover songs, the couple of Flame tunes i know. It'll be 60 3:30 acoustic, slightly out of key, depressing songs. cant wait to start....

I've never heard this song before - I totally dig the way you played it, though. Nice job, Tony! I've been meaning to check out some David Bowie stuff.

Hey Tadpui, thanks for the Bowie tips! I'll refer to your post when getting stuff from him through the library.

I loves the Bowie as well, like Tadpui. Nice rendition Tony, I likee. I as well almost sobbed at hearing that tune, it was one of my favs. I got to see him live as Ziggy, and everything else for that matter. Rise and fall is great, hell its all great. I just turned Tuna on to the Ziggy stuff and he just sat in awe and watched with his mouth agape. When it was over he dug right into my vinyl and started picking out what he wanted popped on CD. Then he called his GF and played some for her over the phone. Bowie seems to have that eefect on most peeps.

TC, I cant believe you never got turned onto that stuff earlier. Go get some now my man, now.

Tony we covered several tunes form that band when we had a girl that would sing with us on occasion. Along with the mandatory Pat Benitar tunes as well.

Well not as good as Ziggy but it definately is a TonyD version. I like the sedond shot better, as the first sounded like you were stressing a bit to get there. This one sounds more comfortable shall we say. I still think you should find a baby scream to fit in for the scream part.
