Feb 02, 2004 10:25 pm Nice tight sounding drums there, very good job getting them recorded very clean. Sound like you have good start underway. I cant wait to hear how this progresses.
Good luck and keep em coming.

Feb 03, 2004 01:27 am thanks, we spent a few days on setup. took about 18 mics for the kit... mixing will be a pain once everything is done.
Feb 03, 2004 02:15 pm Yeah, sounds like it's gonna be sweet! Those drums will sound great with some compression, EQ, and a bit of reverb--as they already do!

Feb 03, 2004 11:34 pm Simply sweet! I want the drummer! Obviously I don't know how much modifying you did but he/she sounds very articulate, controlled, and extreamly tight on quick strikes. Excelent hit seperation and timing!!!! I am jelous. Out of the 6 or so drummers I work with only one has that kind of skill and he is usually working the boats. I get to perform with him maybe once a year. Nice job! Excuse my shade of green.

Feb 04, 2004 12:36 am no problem... i know i'm lucky. he's a human beat machine. we played to a click and he overdubbed. took him a while but he's a perfectionist. i can't wait for this CD... we've put a lot of effort into the writing and now therecording. Thanks again
by the way... what's 'working the boat'?

Feb 04, 2004 01:58 am love the riff at 1:20-1:42!
and at the 3:00 area! thats the kind of lush oddness i like. almost anthemic, but one really cool chord in there too...
they're right your drummer is a find. a major reason my last band fell apart is that we were constantly discouraged by the drummers we had. so, i hope you guys are getting along well. seems like 1 in 6 drummers is 'good enough' and 1 in 10 is 'just what you need.'
