Does anybody have any input or review of this product? Looks very good to me but is there any problem with USB for a soundcard??

Here's the "blur":

Audiophile USB: £179.99

The Audiophile USB builds on the success of our popular Audiophile 2496—awarded Best Soundcard by Computer Music magazine—delivering 24-bit/96k quality with great dynamic range and noise specs. That’s because it uses AC-powered components that deliver better fidelity than bus-powered circuitry. The included Mac and PC drivers let you independently scale bit depth and sample rate (up to 96k) to deliver the lowest USB latency anywhere—whether you’re on stage or in the studio.
Audiophile USB Features:

Simple USB connectivity for audio and MIDI
2 pairs of analog line-level audio inputs (1/4" unbalanced or RCA)
2 analog line-level audio outputs (RCA) with level control knob
S/PDIF in and out (coaxial)
Support AC3 for surround sound setups
MIDI in and out
Headphone output (1/4") with level control knob
High performance 24-bit/96k ADCs (109dB dynamic range)
High performance 24-bit/96k DACs (107dB dynamic range)
Low latency
External power supply allows higher-fidelity AC-powered components
includes software drivers for ASIO 2, MME, Sound Manager and Microsoft DX

All advices will be greatfully received!! Its quite expensive but may be FAR easier for me..i.e. USB at front of PC, nice box to do all?

Cheers guys..

Coco.

I checked one out at a local shop and indeed the latency was running at about 5ms and for USB that is outstanding. And the audio was great, low noise floor and all. I use a MidiMan (same company) USB midisport 8x8 for my midi interface and have had no problem what so ever. No gliches like I had with my MOTU. The card you are looking at is indeed pretty good and I know it has been getting rave reviews here in the states. And the bonus is it will indeed fill out your set-up nicely.

Thanks for that Noize..I am defo considering this.

The card has good in/out and looks a piece of cake to set up/use etc. Nae opening up the PC which is another bonus and effectively a breakout box to boot! What more can I ask for!

As long as the latency is acceptable for professional sounding recordings (which I think is what you are saying here) then I will try to find a way to locate the pound notes and transform this into a new sound card!! Wife permitting!!

I've been having more joy with Sonar lately so I am gonny keep using this and see if this, coupled with proper STEREO cabling and a new card will make all the difference!

Cheers...

Coco.
