Here's one of the songs from it. I had the privilage of singing this duet with our best soprano.

We used KSM32 mics for the choir and my SM86's for the soloists.

Let me know what you think.

Blessings, Terry

Simply WoW!, Terry! Simply WoW!

I remember when you first popped in asking the questions all of us ask in the begining. "You have come a long way Babbbbby!"

Agreeing with Walt. That is excellant, and impressive. And as flame asked, did you use a backing track or does your church have asmall orchestra? Either way the mix is very well done. Ill give the recording as well as the performance 5 stars Terry.

Terry,
Just had to rush back for a split sec. and say that I transfered the track to my studio system and listened again with the full rig. Bigger Wow! I am biting at the bit as all above to hear more on how it was produced.

PS: Beyond sonic value, technical value, etc. Big hats off to the performers, and your church. The material is fabulous as well. Inspiring!

If I am not mistaken, Terry appears to be one of the soloists in the performance. I may play this for our churches choir director so she can see what is possible.

Yes, he mentions that he accompanies their lead soloist. I am mulling over playing it for some friends of mine who do recordings for their congragation. I am afraid it would come across more as "rubing it in their face" than this is what we can do. Ego battles. I'll have to think it over for a bit.

Yes, my intention is to get her to recruit a bit more. But I think since whe has been trying to get me to dedicate some time as well, if I approach her with this she will push the fact that I should help with such an endevor. Maybe it is time I should, dont know now that you bring that up Walt. But it truly is an inspirational piece non the less.

Thanks fellows.

Sorry it took so long to see your responces. I was really busy with out Christmas presentation and lost track of this thread.

To try and answer some of the questions.

We don't have an orchestra unless you cound two trumpets. The sound track was furnished. We did this live with only the spoken parts being done seperately. we sang the solo parts through my SM86 mics and the choir was recorded through three Shure KSM32's. It was tracked through a line spliter to the FOH and to the Yamaha Digital mixer and Mackie HD recorder. It was mixed and mastered elsewhere. We basically did three performances back to back and then picked the best takes for each song. I wish we could have redone the solos after the fact but time didn't allow. The choir is up to 80 voices now. Partly due to the making of this CD.

Yes I am the male part of the duet. I was a fun yet challenging song. There was a strong annointing in the place and it was hard not to get too caught up in it. This particular take was from the third service. I thought I would sound more tired. The other song on the CD that I did the solo in was a bit weaker. I was choked up through most of the song. I'll try to post more of the CD if you guys are interested. I have permission to do so.

Blessings, Terry

Indeed I know I would be interested in hearing some more. As I said, I definately was impressed by the piece you did put up and look forward to hearing more of the production.
