windows xp+Mac osX=???

ok, so ive been saving for notebook so i can use the computer i have now for only recording. NOW.... im ready to purchase something nice, but i dont know weather to go MAC or PC. I like the mac g4 powerbook, they are without a doubt a nice machine... but if i record on this powerbook will i beable to swap info with my PC? i use sonar 2.2, and was planning on getting something different with this new computer (not pro tools) nuendo maybe... i heard that the new 2.0 pack comes with both mac and windows software..? anyone had any experience with these kinds of transfers? input? thanks!

both have their strongpoints and weak points, I prefer PC myself cuz there is a ton more software avilable for it (for thing outside of music as well), upgrades and such are for more readily available. Sharing between platforms always has it's issues, it's never flawless...tho some can, I don't think ANY app can do it 100% correct 100% of the time.

yeah i'd use the laptop for recording. it wouldn't be too difficult to get your whole setup mobile, and then you can record people's live sessions for them wherever they happen to be playing. you can get a lot of cash for doing that.

If yo upgrade to Sonar 3 you will be able to transfer files via the OMF format which is getting to be use more. It is a file format that allows files to be shared among differant platforms and DAWs. But my whloe hearted opinion is to stay away form the Mac and continue down the road of the PC.

mainly i need a laptop to get internet off my PC.. major distraction. also i like the picture and video editing. but recording on the laptop will not be ruled out... just minor on the road stuff. i might buy one on black friday.. haha. well see
