Set up w/ a BR-8 - need assistance

Hey everyone, I'm a LTWFTW (long time watcher, first time writer- for all you SB fans). I just added some new gear to my mini "studio" in my room and I just started to get serious about some recording and I have some general questions.

Currently I am interested in recording my acoustic guitar and getting a full sound out of it. Here is my current setup:

- Boss BR-8 as my main console
- Taylor 410CE Acoustic
- Pair of Oktava MK012 Condensor mics
- AKG D790 Dynamic mic
- Behringer Eurorack MXB1002

So far I've been getting an O.K. sound
Here's what I get so far using my new oktavas: www.atom999.com/fireworks_sample.mp3

What I plan on doing is using the pair of oktavas to record my guitar (right now I'm only using one). I plan on aiming one at the 12th fret and one behind the guitar. These are going to be run into the behringer but how do I have it so they record on separate tracks on the BR-8 so I can mix them separately? I don't even know if this is possible w/ the limitations of the BR-8. Any ideas? Thanks :)

I found this at the recording website it's about getting good sounds from an acoustic guitar:

As with getting them on two separate tracks I dont know.

Hi

I actually found that acoustic sound quite nice - it's good for a mix - a little too much boom (drop some low end off via EQ) and a good mid cut which will allow the vocals to sit perfectly in there) - I would personally add a little more High Frequency as well to make things sound "shinier"

The micing plan seems fine to me, and if the Boss has two inputs then simply route the Main outputs (left and right) into these two inputs. However, if the boss only has 1 input, then an upgrade may be in order.

I believe the BR-8 as 2 inputs, so route your signals as jues said out the mains left and right. Just remember to pan one mic full left and the other full right. I dont remember if the mixer as aux outs or not, if it does use them as your outputs to the BR-8, this will alow you to playback the tracks as well through the mixer if you are over dubbing. If your monitering directly out of the BR-8 then disregard that advice and do as jues said goin directly out your mains from the Berhinger. I think the 2 mic setup will give you a much fuller sound and may help with the bottom end jues referd to. I thought it was a bit bottom heavy as well. But then again I amd partial to a bit brighter aucustic sound anyway. So take that advice with a grain of salt.

The Taylor is a very bottom heavy guitar, so you may still get a pretty heavy sound. But recording two tracks at ounce will give you more to work with to find a good mix.

the boss br-8 is really good as far as it goes, but has a few limitations. one is that the most inputs you can ever have recording at once are two. luckily, that is just what you need.

what you have to do is make sure that the lights for both guitar 1 and guitar 2/mic are both lit. just press one. then, holding it down, press the other.

it's been a long time since ive used the br-8...i think this will activate two tracks for you.
