I currently have Home Studio 2004. Now from what I have read, I can get a cakewalk VST adaptor for free when I register. However, for 4.3.1 it says I need 4.3.0, and for this it says I need an earlier addition of the VST adaptor. Well, I don't have one so what am I to do? If I can't get one for free, does anyone have anything that will let me use VST effect plug-ins with Home Studio 2004?

Well, you could buy it. I never heard anything about getting one for free unless you buy Sonar 3, (I never got one when I registered Sonar 1 a few months before I got 3) but I guess I could be wrong. There's also a free VST-DX Wrapper lite out there (Type it in Google or something), but I never used it because I found it too limiting and just an all around hassle to use.

Nope, it is not free unless you are upgrading. If it is a registered app and it is supposed to have it. Then it will be a free download at Cakewalk. And yes there are free ones out there. But having said that, I just checked with CakeWalk and it is not included for free with Home Studio 2004, it is sold separatly. It is only included with Sonar 3 Producer and Studio edition.

Hello there,
I know your previous post was over a year ago, but I was wondering...Ipurchased Home Studio 2004XL2 and the Presonus Firepod(already has built in Cubase LE)in the past 6 months. I am also having VST problems. Did you ever solve your dilema? and how? How are things going now. Firepod and HS are communicating but seems like problem is same as yours. Can't access plug-ins. The person who answered your post seemed to be on the right track. Please advise if you are still a member. Thanks alot. Newbie Here.
