Compressor question

I was looking for a compressor on a about $100 budget. I would like it to have some nice features like a de-esser or a mic preamp. I was looking at the Behringer models like the Composor 2600 model. Any suggestions?

The Composer is good. I believe Behringer makes a compressor with a de-esser around that price range.

Depending on your purpose, you might be better off spending the money on a sofware compressor.

Ideally, both would be nice :)

www.homerecordingconnecti...18&cat_id=6

theres a couple of briliant free ones here...Camal audio for 'Camelphat' - good for drum tracks and bass parts, i think...

and

digitalfishphones has a couple of great vocal compressors, though i use em for acoustics too

both well worth a look before shelling ut on anything...

i use the digitalfishphones compressor plugin on pretty much anything, depending on the session. i like the way it sounds, and it's very quick and painless.

absolutely...do ya use blockfish or endorphin? ive been using blockfish for that cool scuzzy phat sound it produces, but im getting into endorphin for its added flexibilty

behringer is a good i have read a lot of reviews that they suck, but i havent had any problems with my Behringer MDX2600 Composer Pro XL Processor if you dont want to spend more than 100 dollars than try going with a dbx as well. or maybe try a Digitech Studio signal procesore, some rang from a hound dollars and up. it would be better to get one of the Digitech Studio singal procesors you get more for you $ and you get all the added featurs of a compresor/limiter/gate... all the good stuff...hum... why not check out zzounds.com might help you...it helped me but of coures you could always go with a VST plug in and download one for free...but i like hardware more..
