Pro Tools Plugins?

Can anyone that has knowledge of, or uses, Pro Tools (Digi 001)systems (Mac based), suggest any plugins to help with mixing and mastering. The producer I'm working with uses this set up, and has a few plugins, but they are all bizarre looking and at least to me, not easily understood. I think specifically, it would be good for him to get an EQ plugin that is intuitive to use, as I'd like to help him mix some of our tracks (he doesn't have much experience with this). I always was able to understand any effects I've used with CEP quite easily? Any suggestions?

I use the Waves Native Power Pack plugs and I love them. You'll find a ton of people using them. They're a little on the $$$ side, but well worth it.

So you can use Waves plugins within Pro Tools systems as well?

yes, Waves makes TDM versions of their plugins for use in ProTools.

Indeed, Waves makes pluggins for just about every format now. Not the cheapest by any means, but by far one of the best suits of pluggins availalbe for PC or Mac.

im using Protools on a Mac also. ive got three sets (of almost everything) to choose from now; the standard-issue Audiosuite, Blue Tubes and T-Racks plug-ins.

ive noticed that both my producer and i have gravitated toward the T-racks effects (EQ, compressor, etc.), and are pretty much ignoring the others, (with the exception being the Altiverb, which is a standalone plug-in).

the GUI of the T-racks stuff is great.
