Hi-ay folks

I have an offer for the Behringer Eurodesk MX9000 mixing board. Man, is it a mammoth of a board! It has 24 in/outs channels with 8 sub-group outs. But here's what I need advice on. I have the Aardvark 20/20+ interface with 8 in/outs. Do I need this big of a board to do live recordings along with my Aark? I would like to be able to edit each input I have coming in with my software. But in order to do this with the aark, would I have to buy another Aark to have enough ins/outs to match the Behringer? Or can I just get a smaller board with like 4 sub outs going to my Aark. But with this way, would I be able to edit each individual input with my software? I know this is alot, but please help me because I don't want to pass this offer up if I need this.

Thanks a bunch

Dale

First of all, your board doesn't need to match you number of soundcard inputs. If it has more than it's not as if it's a problem. It seems to me that the board is a perfect size for you since it has 8 subgroups. Just use the outputs on the subgroups and route the channels you're using to the appropriate subgroups. Now, you can edit each of those five subgroups on your computer seperately. However, if you need to record more than 8 channels simultaneously, you're going to have to mix some of them together by routing multiple board channels to the subgroups. This is fine for live recording and is what many people do. If at some point you think you need more track inputs than 8, just buy another Aark and use 8 of the Behringer channels with their direct outs for that card along with the 8 subs you're already using.
