Jul 12, 2002 12:06 pm Magneto IS a VST and Direct X plugin it will work in both types.
Jul 12, 2002 12:45 pm Would the magneto thing work in Acid? I was just curious on how you use this thing. Is it just a plugin for the computer?
Jul 12, 2002 12:47 pm It is a plugin for any computer based multimedia program that uses accepts DirectX or VST compatible plugins. I am pretty sure Acid does, at least the Pro version.
I don't think Magneto works on Mac though...but who cares :-)
Jul 12, 2002 12:51 pm ive got magneto and it does work in acid pro 3.0
Jul 12, 2002 07:04 pm Awesome, thanks a lot guys!

Jul 13, 2002 03:06 am ok, ive dl'd it and installed it....but cant see it anywhere in the cubase menus...any ideas?
Jul 13, 2002 06:42 am It has to be (or should be) installed in Steinbergs "VST Plugins" folder.

Jul 13, 2002 05:15 pm it was...should it show up in the effects menu bit thingy whatsit?
Jul 13, 2002 08:10 pm as I recall yes it should, I only use Magneto in mastering (WaveLab) so my memory isn't the sharpest...there may be a "VSL" sub-group under the effects list I can't recall for sure...

Jul 18, 2002 01:59 pm Please, correct me if I'am wrong.
For Magneto to work as a DX plug-in
you have to use a VST to DX wrapper
don't you??
Thanks
Jul 18, 2002 02:16 pm I don't think so, I according to steinberg.net it installs as both and the host application uses whatever type it best supports.

Jul 18, 2002 03:38 pm haha most things need to be installed when you want t hem to run... otherwise they sit there and don't do anything. But I'm just picking on ya.

Jul 19, 2002 12:08 am Yes, dB is correct. I have it installed and I can use it as VST in WaveLab, and it come's up as DX in Sonar. So it install's both version's at once.
