What? Waldo makes a recording post? NO WAY!

While I was out in the boonies, I had a little free time and laid down the basics for an idea I've had quite some time.

I wrote lyrics for this thing ages ago, and decided to try it playing it out on my uncles acoustic (as mine is a piece of ****, and I can't even tune it anymore). Add to that the fact that I am NOT a guitar player, never learned how, just ****** around until something sounded right...

So with a very cheap *** mic, a tascam us-224 (donated to me for use on NWR by a member of RO), borrowed headphones, and the 'free' Cubasis software that came with it, I put together a 'shortened' version of the song while I was out there.

The full set of lyrics is not there, nor is the instrumentation. Still needs drums, bass, electric leads, and lots of work on the vocals... (I sang really quietly, and you can hear it in my voice that I'm trying to keep it quiet, because the dogs at the place seemed to love barking along with me when I turned it up, lol)

I'll finish it when I can afford to buy a cheap acoustic to replace my dead one.

Remember it's incomplete as a song, and it's a **** mix, just to get used to the new 'toy'.

thats aright man, got an interesting groove to it, and i couldnt immediately think of anyone else it sounded like...which is good

like your voice, kinda wounded, broken sound to it, although i might have a play with the bass on the one with it on - its a bit high in the mix in places

top though, cool!

I got some folks helping me out with the instrumentation now, since I don't got a guitar worth crap to re-record the full version. We'll see, maybe one or two weeks and I'll have something newer to show ya.

I gotta get out of the habbit of writing my ideas in classic notation however, lol

Ya, I hear it! Very expressive. Obviously per your notes it needs work, but the composition is worth the effort MHO. Nice start!
