This may seem an odd post to many, so forgive my compolusion to write this.

Dave Streight choose not to be a member of any major band and to persue his music as a hobby rather than a profession. One voice in two bands of many on the beri-sax, Dave played for countless people from 1964 to last Sunday. At 54 he died from an apparent heart atack while driving. He was heard by thousands, maybe millions, without being publisized as a name in the industry. He helped countless others including myself persue their love of music.

I preceive his loss as as great or greater than any musician knowing of his contribution. A gentle giant of a man, this cat was really cool. Not an image, or persona. Just himself. His spirit lives on in countless numbers! Rock those pearley gates Dave!

Not odd at all Walt, maybe a bit inspiring as it were. Its people like Dave that make music what it is. I didnt know him, but as you say, maybe I have heard him. Surpirising thing is the number of musicians who play, and play well, but they never take it so seriously as to get a big head. He sound like one of those guys. I hope somebody will remember me as you have Dave when I go. It means he really did make at least one good impression while he was here, and that is what counts. Your post certainly got me thinking, we are all mearly mortal souls, here for just a breif moment, lets make the best of what we have, while we have it.
