Hello guys,
I've got a problem. Hired two guys independently for mixing my latest tune and here's what I've got:
1) db.tt/DYCz9pZZ
2) db.tt/lAudCUVj
I've got my type but the thing is my computer speakers are broken, my home cinema is old and I can't really give them justice by listening on proper audio device.
Which one sounds better and why? Which one do U prefer?

Jan 26, 2013 11:18 pm Sorry, I'm a bit late on this. Nice piece.
I'm torn which one I like better.
The beginning part, I think the second has a "smoother" sound. But when the explosive sounds come in, they are right in your face more, which was a little disturbing for me. But maybe if that is what you are going for, it is good.
The first sounded a little brittle to me, especially the stringed instrument that is leading the melody at the beginning (harp?). Overall, the eq is a bit bright to me, too heavy on the high mids/highs. But I like the placement of the big explosive sounds better in the first.

Jan 31, 2013 05:02 pm Thanks, I'm aiming at the huge cinematic sound without losing intimacy of the harp in the 1st part. And thanks for a good word Coolo, I'm really proud of this composition! :)
Any1 else? Plz share Your opinion - I've hear the tune like gazillion times and for sure lost some objectivity... :P

Feb 03, 2013 08:13 pm The second one is by far more dynamic. I heard a lot of transient instruments that fell through the cracks in the first version.
Although, they do both had their own strengths and weaknesses. I think the two guys you hired should work together, they could learn a lot from each other.
It's a great piece, although to me it sounds like the instruments seem to be too aligned. If you snapped them all to midi grids, I would suggest using humanization on a couple of the more "live" instruments like the harp and piano to give it a little vibe.
Anyway, it really does sound good! Second one all the way!
Just my 2 cents!
