I need someone to record their own drum part to this song. I just have a basic repeating programmed beat that my friend recorded to and the track needs some flavor in the drum department.

I am a drummer but I don't have the time to go record my kit. Also I don't have a good drum mic setup. Who wants to help me out?!!

I'll make it downloadable from soundcloud. Just throw it in your daw and lay down a tasty jam, export just the drums (preferrably multitrack) and send them my way. I'll mix it into the session.

If anyone also wants to add some keys to the mix, be my guest.

Thanks gentlemen!!

As for that ending, just go crazy for a couple second and I'll edit it in a way that sounds good and not all jumbled.

Well, I'm no drummer, as we all know, but I can try constructing something in Jamstix as a kind of mock-up, or temporary kinda thing. It is capable of multiple outputs, so I THINK I can get it recorded onto separate tracks. I may need to figure it out though.

If I get some time anyway. We're going to be down in NC for xmas and leaving next weekend to head there. So, I may not be able to get around to it until January. :P Also, a key on my beloved Xboard stopped transmitting midi data, so I ordered a new controller. But it's on backorder, and I don't know when it will ship. So yeah...January. :P (of course I'm praying it will ship sometime this week and get here before we head down to NC for the holidays)

As for keys, um, we'll see. xD I'd like to record my Nord Lead 2X, but that pretty much means electric keys sounds (think Rhodes, Wurli, etc.) of course, I can apply distortion and whatall to dirty up the sound if need be. It just won't be an acoustic piano sound.

Of course, the Nord is also capable of some decent organ sounds using the multi-part patches.

Either way, I think it will fit the track pretty well. Just gotta find the time to do it!

And, as a bonus, should be easy to mix in. Nords have been pretty well known to be able to cut through the mix well, and are generally easy to get to sit pretty with minimal work.

But yeah, I can take a shot at least.

Been awhile, but wanted to mention I've not forgotten about this. I've just been busy with the locals. I will get around to this at some point assuming it doesn't get to be too late....I can at least try adding keys at some point anyway if the drums have already been handled.

I'll get to it when I get to it. If you can use it, great! And if not, well, I'll have at least tried anyway, hah!

You know I'm game! Drums are already mic'd up and ready to go (since my band is recording). I'll put my flare on it... keep if you like; trash if you don't. May need a new link though, the current soundcloud tag is dead (at least from what I can see right now).

I'll put a drumless version in the dropbox.

K I also put another track in there. As long as you're recording drums, that one's next on my to-do list :) If ya want, that is.

Downloaded... can probably work with it this weekend.

What kind of beat are you looking for anyway? Up-beat or more slow blues oriented? I can put death metal drums to it too... but that may be excessive! LOL!!

haha it's not a paid gig, I'm not releasing it as a radio single or anything. It's just having fun laying down some sweet tracks. Go to town.

(That being said, I personally would do upbeat for both, that's kinda the feel that I....feel...when I listen to them)

Hey quickkid.....

Sorry for the delay. I think I'm going to be tracking for my band this week, which means I'll have everything setup to record. I'll try to squeeze this in while it's all in motion. Should have something by end of week. Let me know if its not too late and you still need this done.

I'm also done with my current project (done as it's gonna get anyway, I think) So I'll start working on the keys very soon. Mebbe this week. I've already worked out ideas for the basic comping. Just gotta work on the riffs and some of the switchups.

I'm trying to avoid comping too hard since there is already a lot going on with the track, and I kinda want there to be some breathing space. So yeah, no flying keyboard solos or anything from me this round, haha!

I got one of 'em done.... I can send you the individual tracks to an email or something (dropbox?). But check it out... see if you even like what I did with it.

I uploaded it to soundcloud cause that's all I have for now. If you need me to take it down for whatever reason, do let me know ASAP.

Sounds rad! Nice production. I think I like the half-time sections better for the beginning. The faster (opposite of half-time?) beat sounds awesome for the ending section, from 3:24 on. And maybe play something for those guitar-only sections, something on the toms or on the rims or something. It sounds a little bare without any drums. Good job man, I really appreciate you helping me out with this. And so will Richie (the guy who wrote it.)

So... are you saying you want it at half-time throughout the song up until 3:24, or flip the timing (half first, then the up-beat)? I'll try to think of something for the 'bare' parts.

This probably took me 2 hrs; not bad for punching in as I go and not listening to it at all before recording! Any mods from here on out should be pretty quick. It's a catchy little tune once you've listened to it 12x -13x times!

Lol. Yeah, I was thinking of it being half time up until the end.

Alright... I'll meet you half way (in the literal sense too). I'll do the half-time up through 2:10 and just keep what's there for the last half. I think that will give it some diversity for the verses between solos.

I'll have it posted later tonight. Stay tuned!

Nice dude! Thanks for the help. It's hard to get drums going these days, and I have a pretty crappy setup anyways. That ending was pretty metal lol. Could you upload the drum tracks to dropbox so I can mix them in?
