Recording multiple channels into Pro Tools Via USB from the Xenyx 1622

Equipment:
iMac - OS X Mountain Lion
Behringer Xenyx 1622 mixer
Pro Tools 10
M-Audio BX8 monitors
Mbox2 (just in case)

I have a Behringer Xenyx 1622 and need to record into pro tools via USB. The first problem I am having is getting it to play back once I've recorded something from a microphone. After playing with the 1622 I finally found out I need to press in the 2-tr/USB main button. This allows the signal to go into pro tools through usb apparently. But when I try playing it back I can't hear anything until I press the same button again. This is stupid. I bought the board so I could easily mix multiple channels into Pro Tools button I'm not going to press this button twice every time I want to record and then listen to the playback. Is there any solution?

My BIGGEST question is can I record multiple channels into Pro Tools from this mixer? Can I somehow record channel four into an input and have it be separate from channel three? Or will every input from the mixer go into Pro Tools from USB as one sound?

Thanks to anyone who responds at all. Im somewhat new to all this and haven't messed around with inputs and outputs in PT too much. If I had to guess I would say the answer lies within the I/O settings but I don't know how to do things like that.

Thanks!

I believe the USB only transfers a stereo signal--out and apparently in. It should say this in the manual. Have you thought about hooking up the Mbox?--use that to interface with the Behringer. I don't think you're going to be able to record multiple channels from the 1622.
