Anyone know of a device/s i can look at to play samples on stage that can pick up the tempo of the song on the fly and change the tempo of the sample accordingly?

Im thinking of these samples as all bounced together as one file per song as a .wav and then a device that can pick up the drummers tempo live via midi and then change the tempo of the wav sample track to match.

I am thinking there are loads of options that would have you play along with the sample...but one where the sample plays along with you might be a taller order.

You would be looking at some sort of sequencer but none that I know of can do this automatically. About the closest that I can think of is Ableton Live 8.

i searched for hours but only got one thing and that was software.

i think you were right dB it really seems to be a tall order, but they do have that software but ya dont seem to able to buy it.

its pretty cool, basicly ya use drum triggers connected to compy and this program detects the speed of drums, then, as this guy was drumming faster it was speeding up to follow. was cool, and it was a .wav file it was speeding up.
circular-logic.com is the site.

apart from that i got nothing, was really wanting to steer away from lugging a computer in anywhere ya know? what hassle.
thing is i want it to happen so i guess i gotta work something out.
