Unable to monitor Blue Snowball USB mic

Hi all,
I'm trying to get a Snowball USB mic to work.
It installed fine when I plugged it in, but I can't hear anything through it. It records fine in an audio editor, I just can't monitor it.

I assume it's a IRQ conflict with my sound card (a cheap Startech PCI card I installed to replace my onboard card, which a headphone jack broke off in) I have another USB sound device (Magic Jack telephone ringtone) that stopped working when I installed the card.

In the sound mixer, it shows the device, but 'playback' is greyed out.

I'm not sure how to fix this. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. I'm running WinXP SP3 btw.

Too bad about the headphone jack mishap--maybe that onboard card would have the functionality that you need. However, until you upgrade your card (there are plenty of cheap--around a hundred bucks--decent soundcards available), it seems unlikely you're going to have much luck. Also, what USB port are you plugging into? Do you have a second, aftermarket USB card, or just what came withthe computer? Sometimes those original USB ports don't work well in this situation. What recording software are you using?
