you don't mean the SD memory card reader slots do you? I've never heard of a sound card made for those. They do make laptop PCMCIA cards though, which I'm guessing is what you're talking about?
Though some of those PCMCIA cards end up just sending data across to an I/O box, so it wouldn't be much different than having a firewire or USB audio interface.
If you don't need it for massive recording purposes, but just as a "sound card" you could check out the Echo Indigo IO or IOX. It has a 1/8" stereo input and the same for output. No big breakout box to send data out to, or anything like that. Pretty lean and simple. The Indigo DJ is similar, but has 2 outputs instead of 1 input 1 output, so I'm not sure if that fits your needs (since you wouldn't be able to record into the card)
The original Indigo is discontinued, but the IO, IOX and DJ versions are still available.
Both cards include a cable with RCA and 1/4" adapters. As far as I've found so far, I think Echo's PCMCIA cards are just about the only ones that don't sent data over firewire to an input/output box. Everything is done on the card, and the headphone/line-out jacks are on the card itself.
Of course, you can also check out the Creative soundblaster PCMCIA cards as well, but I think the Echo is a little more tidy.
Hope that helps.
