Contributor Since: Jun 20, 2002

it's rummored that the SM7 was the only mic able to hold up to a roundhouse kick from Chuck Norris.

you know that voice in your head that tells you right from wrong? well, it was recorded with an SM7

hahaha, that's funny.

I always hear stories how the sm57 is as tough as hell too.

I just reckon its funny that they give these mics so much **** to try test their durability limit....and i love breaking things so i can relate.

So is this true^^^? Either way its funny to me.

That's something someone could put on you tube.
Buuy couple of 57's and see how much they can take before they die an video they whole thing.

I remember seeing a couple vids on youtube testing Shure durability

First one, they drop one of the mics from 8 stories up (IIRC) onto the brick floor below (was in some big hotel lobby) Only the outer casing was slightly dinged.

Next one, they drop something like an 100 pound tape ball on the thing. Well, the casing got pretty smashed, but the mic was still fully operational.

Drop test:

"Road" Test

Tape Ball!

Scientists predict that when the dinosaurs come back from Mars in their spaceships to kill us all...cockroaches and sm7's are all that will remain.
