parametric EQ in cubase

i'm starting to play around with the EQ in cubase and i'm surprised to see that there is only one four-band parametric per track. i'm used to adjusting more bands than that: on my korg triton you have the option (if you so wish) to chain up to five instances of a 4 band parametric together. i dont need to adjust 20 separate bands, of course, but if i'm to take some of the suggestions for EQ that i'm finding in these forums to task, i'm going to need at least six bands per channel. (but of course the more the better!)

does anyone have any knowledge about how to add some more EQ capability? should i be thinking plug-ins here?

yes think plugins. i know nuendo is like that to..i don't use the nuendo eq plugin but if i wanted to they have one you can use as a plugin to ...for what i've seen cubase is very close to nuendo ..maby you just have to add like another cubase eq into one of the inserts or you could just use a 10 band eq plugin

Waves make an excellent 10 band Parametric EQ VSTi / DX Plugin. - www.waves.com

Also, just as a side note, if you are using more than 4 bands of EQ then something is going a bit wrong.... :\ (unless you are seriously mangling a sound.

jues.

Also remember that when you use the parametric you are shaping the eq with the "Q" and although you are limited to four center frequencies, you are creating eq curves that are difficult to create with multiband eq's.

yes, i am not too familiar with equalizing yet at all. knowing how to set Q has been particularly troublesome. jues, in one of your earlier posts about electric guitar distortion, you recommended tweaking about 6 different frequencies. thats what i went to try last night, and found that i had but 4 at my disposal.

all of this waves stuff looks wonderful. although i dont see the equalizer you are talking about. the renaissance?

If you are using a software plugin equalizer, then just open a second instance of it and you'll have 8 bands to use.

I think he is using the channel EQ in Cubase. I thought Cubase came with a multi band parametric as well in their stock plugs. But I will second or third the Waves plugs, both dB and I use them and as blue said they do indeed rock. But bare in mind they are an investment not to be taken lightly.
