It's probably wisest to inform my wife before coming home with a new 50" Plasma flatscreen TV...those that say it's easier to ask forgiveness than permission didn't marry my wife. Ha.
Until I plugged it in and turned it on, then she seemed fine. :-)

Mar 21, 2011 08:40 am Well, I give my wife mad props for her money management skills...I make it better, she manages it better...if I managed it we wouldn't have any :-)

Mar 21, 2011 08:59 am As a musician, and more than that a tech geek and aquarium keeper, well, I have expensive hobbies, so I am thankful to have somebody that helps me keep myself in check.

Mar 21, 2011 06:31 pm Is it a saltwater aquarium?
Mar 21, 2011 06:42 pm No, all three are freshwater. I have kept salt water before...with freshwater you get the luxury of breeding, which the kids love and makes me a few bucks, salt water is beautiful, but incredibly expensive.

Mar 21, 2011 06:56 pm Gotcha...the saltwater tank has been tried in my family. We don't speak of these things any more; other than to warn others of impending doom.
Mar 22, 2011 06:48 am Ah, no luck, huh? I had good luck, fish did well, my roommate had one too, but keeping them is much more work than Fresh!

Mar 23, 2011 02:49 pm We had some luck. Got the saltwater tank working great in the winter but then summer came and we learned the hard way that chilling is just as important as heating, even in Colorado. 110 gallons of failure...

Talk about a glut for punishment, but I understand I had to give up the love of the aquariums myself. But thanks to the history channel I've learned that I'm also a "picker" and not a pack rat. Now to work on the other two.
Mar 27, 2011 05:09 pm Yeah, I kind of know that conversation.
You bought a TV? We already have TV's! What were you thinking??? Do you know how much money you just spent? Of course you do!!! You just bought it! I can't believe you would spend that kind of money <TV power switch on, click> of all of the irresponsible.......... things............. You have ever................. What channel is this on? Can you turn that up?
You know, if you we move the one out of the bedroom........
=)
Mar 27, 2011 08:47 pm Funnily, it's in our bedroom until the basement is finished :-)
