Hi,
it's a sad fact that too many good studios are going under in the present climate. I 'm sure that they will need to sell off equipment in order to recoup some costs. That leads me to the question...
Does anyone out there (in the UK preferably, we're in the deep south) know of any studios in that unfortunate position? We are trying to build up our studio and I'm sure you can appreciate how hard that is. We are presently looking for Bantam patchbays, preferably on a 19' racking system and want to hard wire the cables in and out.
Any leads (please excuse!!) would be much appreciated.

Mar 10, 2011 06:46 am I can't really say much to address the finding of said studios, but the truth is they have been going under for years, it all started with the advent of computer based recording, and it becoming affordable to average shmoes like me and you...once people could start doing it themselves it negates the need for big studios and more it's even lessening the need of labels to distribute, since we now have mp3's and iPods in such common usage...so, expect the trend to continue.
Mar 10, 2011 10:00 am What kind of studio are you setting up? I'm living in Amsterdam editing for MTV at the moment but am moving to the UK in August. If you guys need some help I'm handy with a soldering iron and willing to work for beers and/or sexual favours.

Mar 10, 2011 02:46 pm Hah, yeah, editing for MTV in Amsterdam seems pretty ideal to me. Of course, I'm not editing for MTV in Amsterdam so who am I to judge.
