ok so i had a party at my house with bands, wasn't paying attention and when all was said and done my mixer and a powered speaker is gone. (there was friends of friends and maybe some party crashers) whats stolen is stolen so i am moving on and grateful i still have one powered speaker. first step is i bought a new mixer but i went with a cheaper model than what i had cuz i just cant afford more. the one i had had xlr outputs i connect to the xlr input on the powered speaker, however the new one i have has 1/4 inch outputs.
can i use an xlr to 1/4 adapter with hi z to low z transformer or do i need and adapter without a transformer?
thanks.

You just need an adapter. No need for a transformer.

No. It wouldn't be bad to use it. Just depending on the turn ratio, it just maybe a lower output.
