The CAD M179 nowadays.....

Alright so I've come across a plethora of positive reviews for this mic. Problem is that MOST of the review are from the early and mid 2000's, when this mic was still made in the US. I've heard that they have now made there way to being manufactured in china, like all the other budget condensers.

I'd like to know if anyone has any experience and comments about the current models of the M179, as I am REALLY CLOSE to picking up this mic in the next day or two. So, any thoughts??

Actually, I just read a rave review of the new CAD Equitek E100S in Sound On Sound (Jan. 2011). This particular mic is engineered and made in the USA (a good reason to buy it, for me, in addition to the fact that it's well worth it at it's price point). It costs $599.00, and if I were you, I'd save up and buy this mic. According to the review, it's "phenomenally quiet," and is generally quite good for about anything. Sorry, I don't know about the M179--the last thing I need is another budget condenser. Check out the review in SOS before you buy the M179.
