I've always been software dominant in recording but just got some hardware for a great price that I just couldnt pass up.....If anyone could help me in wiring and setup that would be great.... I make my music (beats) on the computer and obviously record through a condensed and mixdown/ master on the computer but heres the gear I just got and need help wiring it all up

Previously owned:
Yamaha G046 Mobile Audio Interface
Condensor mic (xlr) needs phantom...no battery
Peavey PS 4AC (never used due to G046 providing phantom)
Computer
Sony studio monitors
cheap offbrand amp
Head phones

As of right now Ive got the Mic as Mic one in the mixer, mic 2 is computer input to the mixer, c/r out is the monitors, Main out is computer, aux 1 is dbx...havebt tried recording...ill update when that happens...but im still definately open to opinios and help though

New Gear:
Mackie 16 channel Mic/ Line Mixer
Behringer Virtualizer pro DSP2024P
DBX iEQ-31 Equalizer/ Limiter
Alesis 3630 Compressor/ Limiter
RANE ME15B Graphic Equalizer

Random:
xlr cables x5
xlr-1/8th
1/4 x 6
xlr-1/4x2
rca-1/4x5
1/4-1/8

Im sure I dont need all this stuff, but would like to use a majority of it....Thanks in advance

I see no purpose to any of the "New Gear" part. If you need the mixer, I suppose it could come in handy for interfacing this 'n that. No need for the DSP, certainly no use for graphic EQ's, can't imagine a use for the 3630.

Could all come in handy for a small live setup...

I am glad you said it MM, I had the same thought a couple hours ago when I read it...I mean, I could have spit out how to hook it all up, but was really struggling for a reason why...though that compressor may come in handy here and there...

Well since the OP already bought the gear...

I guess there is no need to permanently set it all up and get it all wired, like dB said the cmopressor may come into play now and then as would all the outboard things like EQs and DSP, they would just be alternatives to whatever u have in ur computer rather than permanent parts of ur rig

y r u connecting ur computer and mic into ur mixer to go out the monitors again? just asking as im not familiar with ur sound card, does it not have an input and its own monitor outputs?

All in all, u can just put all ur equipment in a rack and if ever u feel that ur plugins arent doing teh job u can try running ur trax through the mixer and have the efx as an aux bus

but again, they dont need to be permanently hooked up or part of ur signal chain

The audio interface appears to have mic inputs, but, if some compression is needed pre-audio interface, the mixer, with a compressor in an aux channel, might be nice to have.

The 31 band EQ would be nice for ringing out a room in a live situation...the 15 band I think I'd resell, personally.
