Hey guys, just posted up a new track in my songs and wanted to hear everyones thoughts. Took me about 4 hours to record, and finished editing and mixing this morning.

Thoughts on mixing, arrangement, performance are all encouraged. Thanks for taking the time guys!

I dont have alot of time right now in regards to arrangement but the performance rocks and the mix is darn good. I am at work but am thinking it is almost bass heavy. I'm not 100% on that as I think this type of music needs alot of bass but... maybe just a little. Good job all around though.

Sounds cool, I second the "a little too much bass" motion. What did you do to get that lower octave on the bass? Is that a keyboard thing or a real bass guitar?

I had to fight like hell with Autotune to get the lower bass octave on the song Just Poppa in my profile. Sounds like whatever you did accomplished a similar thing...hopefully without 3 hours of editing.

Thanks for the feedback so far guys! I was suspicious about the bass, but I thought it could've been the standing waves of the room. Thanks for affirming my suspicions. And it is a synthesizer. I got the sound off of KORG's virtual Polysix from the Legacy Collection.

I'm not too helpful on arrangement, but yeah it sounds cool. For my taste, the hats seem a little too "clean" to me. I'm not sure how to correct that (or even if you would want to) maybe trying to boost some not as high frequencies on the hats (like 8-10kHz range)? I might also lower the swooping synth a bit also. But the mix does sound good. The bass sits well with the synth, but those two are kind of loud compared to the rest of the parts I think.

Alright guys. Toned down the bass, and the stereo synth. Also brought out the piano a bit more through EQ. I also added the musical piece that this song goes into. Its a droney sorta track called "With Hues of Violet and Green". Its a short piece, but I think it compliments that song before it nicely. Take a listen and tell me what you think guys! Oh and you don't have to limit yourselves to the three categories I listed in the first post. Thanks!
