I was wondering if anybody here could tell me what type of synth is used here:
It comes in at about 0:13. Lemme know if you know what it is, and where I could buy a VST for it... or maybe even a freebie VST... they're always fun.

Sep 27, 2010 05:30 pm My Korg R3 and Akai Miniak are both capable of producing similar sounds. Heck, my R3 has a preset that's nearly identical. Roland's synths can have a similar lead sound as well. But yeah, pretty bread'n'butter sounding lead to me. Maybe it's piped through some FX to enhance the sound.
For VST, check out iloSynth-1 as a freebie VST. IT's got some nice lead capabilities. There's also MiniMogueVA, which is a fairly decent freebie moog emulator. Synth1, which I understand is modeled after Nord Lead 2, and there's a bajillion preset banks that you can get for it. Also, while not the same kinda sound, I really like Togu Audio Line's synths Elek7ro2 and Noisemaker as well.
You can find em all over on KVR www.kvraudio.com
