I have a problem with a tascam dp-01 hard disk recorder. My son, who is in the Navy and stationed in Japan, sent home a "new" dp-01. He said him and a few of his buddies used it and it worked fine. My son sent it home because he said he ran out of room for it. I have used it twice..and it seemed ok. But, about a week ago I turned it on and it gave me an error message of no operating system.......Is there anywhere or anyplce that I can get the operating system from?

Sep 23, 2010 09:58 am Add note: I have tried customer support center..They keep telling me that this item has been discontinued and has been replaced by the DP-02. And they are pushing me to buy that one...They said that they could fix it...but....I will have to send it to their repair center (over seas) and that it will cost almost double of the original price of the unit to repair it. If I had the OS, I can fix it myself.
Sep 23, 2010 06:43 pm I apologize, you can not buy the OS by itself.
